Prayagraj–Visakhapatnam Special Train 04159/04160: Route, Timings and Cancellation Update

Important update: The North Central Railway poster announced a limited-period weekly special between Prayagraj and Visakhapatnam. Later reports said that the remaining services were cancelled for operational reasons: train 04159 from 4 September to 27 November 2026, and train 04160 from 5 September to 28 November 2026. Since those dates have now passed, this train should not be treated as currently running. Passengers should check the latest railway timetable before planning a similar journey.

What was the service?

Train 04159 was the Prayagraj-to-Visakhapatnam service, and 04160 was the return service. The poster described a limited weekly run from August through November 2026, with 16 trips planned in each direction. The later cancellation notice means the full planned schedule did not operate.

Planned schedule

According to the timetable poster:

TrainDirectionPlanned running day and periodDepartureScheduled arrival
04159Prayagraj to VisakhapatnamFridays, 14 August–27 November 2026Prayagraj, 10:15 amVisakhapatnam, 1:30 pm Saturday
04160Visakhapatnam to PrayagrajSaturdays, 15 August–28 November 2026Visakhapatnam, 3:40 pmPrayagraj, 5:30 pm Sunday

The timetable therefore showed a journey of about 27 hours in each direction. These were planned timings; they should not be used as current travel information because later services were reported cancelled.

Route and station timings in the poster

Fare, coaches and booking

The supplied posters do not state the ticket fare, coach composition or booking-opening date. Those details should not be inferred from the schedule notice. For any future or replacement service, passengers should check the train number, travel date, class, fare and seat availability in the current railway booking system before paying.

What passengers should take away

04159/04160 was announced as a temporary weekly special, not as a permanent daily train. The later reported cancellations changed the plan, so the original poster alone is not enough to confirm that a service is operating. Always verify the current running status and timetable for your specific travel date.
