Sogariya–Mathura Special Train for Diwali: Route, Dates, Timings and Ticket Information
Indian Railways will run an unreserved superfast special train between Sogariya and Mathura to provide extra travel capacity during the festive season. Train numbers 02921 and 02922 are scheduled to make 15 trips in each direction from 6 to 20 November 2026.
The service connects Kota’s Sogariya station with Mathura Junction, stopping at stations across Rajasthan and eastern Rajasthan’s neighbouring region, including Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Hindaun City and Bharatpur. It is a temporary special service, not a permanent daily train. The schedule and coach information below are based on the railway poster and reported details. Kota railway division announcement reported on 3 November
Train dates and numbers
The special service will operate daily from 6 November through 20 November 2026, inclusive. That means 15 trips from Sogariya to Mathura and 15 return trips from Mathura to Sogariya.
- 02921: Sogariya–Mathura Special
- 02922: Mathura–Sogariya Special
- Operating period: 6–20 November 2026
- Frequency: Daily during the announced period
Timings of Sogariya–Mathura Special Train
Train 02921 will depart Sogariya at 8:30 am and is scheduled to reach Mathura Junction at 2:05 pm the same day.
In the return direction, train 02922 will leave Mathura Junction at 5:10 pm and arrive at Sogariya at 10:50 pm.
The journey is around 325 km. Allow extra time when making onward connections, as actual arrival times can be affected by operating conditions. Check the live train status before travelling.
Route and stops
The train will stop at these stations in both directions:
Sogariya → Indargarh Sumerganj Mandi → Sawai Madhopur → Gangapur City → Shri Mahavirji → Hindaun City → Bayana → Bharatpur → Mathura Junction
The route gives passengers at intermediate stations an additional connection to Sogariya and Mathura during the special service period.

Coaches and seating
The poster describes a 12-coach train, including 10 General Class coaches. The service is listed as unreserved, so passengers should not expect a reserved berth or an assigned seat. Availability of space can vary, particularly during busy festive travel dates.
Ticket and fare information
The poster does not state a fare, and an exact ticket price should not be assumed from reserved-train fare websites. As this is an unreserved service, passengers should check the applicable journey fare when buying a ticket.
Unreserved tickets can be obtained through railway ticketing facilities, including station counters and the official RailOne app, which supports unreserved ticket booking. The Ministry of Railways describes RailOne as providing both reserved and unreserved ticketing services.
What passengers should check before departure?
Because this is a limited-period special train, passengers should confirm that their chosen date falls within 6–20 November 2026 and check the latest schedule and running status through official railway enquiry channels before leaving for the station. The train is intended to add capacity during the festive rush, but its temporary operation does not guarantee that it will continue after the announced dates.
In brief: Train 02921 leaves Sogariya at 8:30 am for Mathura, while 02922 returns from Mathura at 5:10 pm. Both are scheduled daily for 15 days, from 6 to 20 November, with eight intermediate stops and unreserved seating.
